UN World Water Day was established in 1992 by the United Nations. Each year, this day is devoted to focusing attention on the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. In support and celebration of UN World Water Day, The FGUA has moved the deadline for registration form submissions in the poster contest to March 22, 2012.

The Great American Teach In is held every year by school districts throughout the United States. The Teach In provides an opportunity for workplace professionals to go to schools and discuss their profession and the importance of education in the workforce. FGUA representatives participated in the event by delivering presentations to J.W. Mitchell High School and Seven Springs Middle School in Pasco County on November 16, 2011.
